Jane is a part time Senior Lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton, an independent nurse consultant and a freelance journalist who specialises in Obesity and Men’s Health.
Since 1997 she has worked at the cutting edge of innovation which has brought much national and local press coverage appearing on many TV and radio shows.
She has run weight management clinics and men’s health surgeries in many unusual places including pubs, a barbers shop, Harley-Davidson show room, truck stops, crown green bowling events, working men’s clubs and fishing fairs.
She has also been involved in improving health in the workplace working not only with small businesses but also larger companies such as the Royal Mail, BT, MOD and Arrive PLC.
Jane runs training courses for a range of health care professionals throughout the UK and has also worked in Europe, Bermuda and the Far East. She is recognised as a leading expert in her field and has written many published articles and papers on the subject. She has won several awards for her innovation to nursing and was nominated Nurse of the Year in 1999.
She has been a director and vice chair of two leading UK health charities, positions she held for over 10 years.
She trained as a State Registered Nurse in Jersey in 1974, later training as a Midwife and Health Visitor in the West Midlands and has a BA (Hons).
